    Long Island LGBTQ+ community fights for GENDA in light of midterm election results

    By: Karina Gerry The results from the November midterm elections have once again brought hope to the LGBTQ+ community, specifically the transgender community, in New York, as four Long Island Senate seats, three upstate seats, and one Brooklyn seat all turned blue. Republican control of the Senate has blocked the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) from reaching the floor for the past 11 years.
